Overall, this product is excellent. The three star rating is due to issues I experienced with packaging, shipping, and my order.

To break it down, I ordered these as a wedding present for a friend of mine, after I discovered that she hadn't ever gotten to light one off let alone see one of these since she was a little girl. Luckily for me, I placed my order to arrive just in time for the big day.

Unfortunately, my order arrived at the very last day anticipated and a LOT short! However, upon closer inspection I discovered that the lanterns are packaged TWO to a package, but still found myself short 50 lanterns.

Upon contacting the sellers, who were easy to find and very courteous, I learned that they are sold in 50 lantern lots and it was simply an error in packaging, and the remaining lanterns were shipped that day. A bit disappointed, and still waiting on the remaining lanterns, I found my self very pleased with the product itself.

AWESOME PRODUCT
First off, this is an awesome deal, at $0.89 a lantern, one of the best prices on the internet. Second these lanterns are both sturdy and 100% Biodegradable. Setup and use is very easy and is every thing you might have hoped for in a product like this.

CAUTION: Do not try to fly near residential areas, dry wooded areas, power-lines, etc. Also, if it is cold and drizzling, the lanterns wont get very much lift and may return to the ground a few yards away. Over a lake or ocean seems to be best places to launch, but strong winds impede flight.

IMPORTANT: Know the law for your state, many states classify these as fireworks. These lanterns are ILLEGAL in Tennessee, South Carolina, and parts of California. They ARE legal by state law in Washington state, but certain counties have banned their use. Also realize that to release large quantities of lanterns, you will need a permit, and regardless of if it is two or twenty, you will attract attention.

WARNING: These are fun, but can be dangerous, remember the wick burns for about ten minutes. Use common sense and maybe youtube sky lantern fail to learn from those who didn't.
