I bought this package for the 8 D batteries to power a LED lantern. Got the batteries with about 50-75% charge per charger and took probably 8-10 hours to fully charge batteries. Unit is small and works well, no excess heat. I also left the batteries in the charger for >10-12 hours (forgot to take them out when I went to work) and no ill effects to the batteries. Overall, works for what I need to charge at least 4 D batteries!
