I use these cups to mix small paint batches. As a custom bicycle manufacturer, I use high end urethanes which either melt or react badly with most other cup materials. PETE is the only material I could find for inexpensive cups that don't melt (plastic) when I mix reduced Imron in them or contaminate my paint (lined paper) to the point where I need to repaint the frame I am working on. The lined paper cups I've tried have a baked on silicone lining which should not contaminate my paint, but every once in a while, the baking is not complete which causes the paint to "fish-eye," ruining my work. These cups are just the right size and shape. The available "cocktail" cups are too wide mouth for my purposes. So there you go. I found the perfect cup ... I just don't drink out of them.
