For too long, I have been driving in a car seat that gently forces me to slump. The pain was just subtle enough to ignore. When I recently was getting ready to go on a long car trip, I knew it would become much more than annoying. Having already reviewed many other backrests and, each time, finding something that I knew wouldn't work for me, I liked the Amazon description and just decided to fly with it. I'm so glad I did!
The first thought I had when I sat in the seat was "Oh my, I've just arrived in heaven!" The shape is a gentle outward curve and the cushion materials are so comfortable while, at the same time, providing true support. The experience increased my enjoyment of the trip ten fold. The instructions in the package speak of a break-in period for your back and I found this to be accurate in that my back became a little sore the first day after about three hours, but nothing to write home about. On my return drive, that aspect was greatly lessened and now it's just perfect. It also gives instructions for anchoring the backrest to your seat, but I have found I don't need to anchor it at all. Another thing I like a lot is that there is nothing along the sides of the backrest that restrict you in any way. It never felt too warm against my back.
