We use these to treat pain caused by shrapnel injuries. Severe pain that is normally treated with opiods is greatly reduced by the patches. The igredients are a little "unusual" (like "crushed fossilized bone") but they work well.

A strong but not unpleasant menthol scent fades slightly as the patch is worn. These patches are very large, so I cut them into 4x6" pieces and store the unused portion in a zip-top bag until ready to use them. The adhesive is extremely strong, which is why this didn't get 5 stars. Pulling a used patch off can be extremely painful if it is placed over hair or over an existing scar.
