this is all plastic except for the wall mounting bar. this makes the unit light and easy to install on any type of wall. the unit went up easily. we were able to use the supplied power cord. you may need to add your own to pass through a wall (we had an available passthrough) or add lenght but that is easy to do. the unit light and rotates. very nice.
