I do NOT own this. It doesn't make sense for me because of how infrequently I would use it. But, I called the company to ask some questions and they were super helpful (basically told me it doesn't make sense for me to buy their product!!). The sensor on this - or ANY OTHER BRAND - needs recalibration/replacement after one year. AlcoMate's idea is you simply buy another sensor and replace it yourself, at home, rather than send the unit to the manufacturer (ala BACTrack). To me, that is a great idea. You may prefer one or the other solution - however, the sensors' precision degrades over time - you need to have it re-calibrated, or buy a new sensor, every year or so.
