We have a shower/tub combo and due to back problems, standing for an entire shower had become too painful for me. I was looking for just a small padded bench seat. All the bench seat types were just molded plastic and not padded. I found this and we could remove the arms (which I didn't want or need anyway), we were hoping we could also remove the back too, but the way it's designed you can't remove the back. It seemed like it would be ok though. It's lightweight, easy to move in and out of the shower (just 2 pieces). But when we put it in the shower/tub combo of our, we discovered that the base size is too big. If you have just a shower, this might work well, if the shower is large enough, but if it's a shower/tub combo, it doesn't work well at all. The feet won't sit flat on the bottom. It is very comfortable to sit on though and I would recommend it for use in large showers only. I do use this even with it's size because it is comfortable to sit on and it's the closest thing I could find to what I needed. Be sure to measure the area you plan to use it in carefully though because it it farily large with a large base size.
